RESIDENTIAL SERVICE

Weekly trash and/or bi-weekly recycling service for your home.

We offer curbside trash and recycling pickup to residences and HOAs all around the Wilmington area. Unlike any other collection service in the area, we are particularly well-suited for the beach -- from our mini collection trucks that are easier on roads/fit down tight spaces, to our donations to local sea turtle foundations. We would love to service your home or neighborhood!

Service includes:

• Low, flat rates

• Yard debris pickup (per bag)
• Bulk item pickup (per item)
• In-house recycling that turns plastic into goods/art
• Part of your bill gives directly to local sea turtle foundations and other awesome coastal initiatives

SERVICE INCLUDES

Our collection fleet is incredibly efficient — we use mini-trucks to service your home quicker, quieter and greener than the other guys. We use less fuel per comparable load, we can squeeze into tight beach roads, and we can collect more quietly (which the whole neighborhood will appreciate). Unlike the big ton trucks that currently service your trash and recycling — our trucks are small, incredibly versatile and still pack a ton of waste with less emissions. Small green trucks with big green impact!

Mini Eco-Friendly Trucks

Our customer service is above-and-beyond! We like to bring bins back up driveways (even if 10 feet - just to make your life a little easier), residents get a direct line to their garbage collector and we are much more personal. (you’ll know us on first name basis!)

Above and beyond service

We created an in-house recycling program that repurposes plastics (mostly bottletops) into tiles, furniture and art. Each week we gather plastic (#2, #4, #5) through donations and handpicking off the top of bins - then sort, shred, and mold them with our injection machine to make pots, furniture and other products. We recycle tons of other materials (aluminum, cardboard etc) at the New Hanover Co facility but chose to focus our in-house efforts on plastic because it is difficult to process with traditional recycling and we hate the idea of plastic in our oceans.

Turtleplastics® Recycling

We work with all sorts of groups to actively volunteer and support organizations that help our coast thrive - from beach cleanups, nest walk and supplying plastic to local artists - you’ll catch us frequently out in the greater Wilmington community participating and cleaning up.

Active Volunteers

Part of your bill goes directly to local sea turtle foundations including Karen B, PISTP and WBSTP! We put turtle in our name, Turtletrash, as a nod to our commitment to giving, to sea turtles and greater coastal preservation efforts. Our overall goal is to create a more coastal-conscious waste company that gives back to the NC coast we all love!

  • Our residential service area currently includes South Wilmington (zipcodes 28409 and 28412) and North Wilmington (zipcodes 28405 and 28411). Please reach out if your zipcode is not listed as we are actively looking to add new service areas!

  • Acceptable items include household waste - food, plastic bags, pet waste, and styrofoam. Unacceptable items include non-household waste - roof shingles, paint, concrete, stone, dirt, chemicals, and flammable items.

    Please see what goes in the bin list or reach out via 910-236-9493 with questions regarding proper disposal.

  • Acceptable items include household recycling - cans, glass, cartons, paper, cardboard and plastic containers. Unacceptable items include - plastic bags, styrofoam, electronics, batteries, yard waste, wood scraps, metal scraps, aerosols, wire/hoses, and clothing.

  • Trash is serviced every week and recycling is serviced every other week. Please see the calendar page for specific pickup days in your area

  • We pickup bulk items every other week on Wednesdays (non-recycling weeks). Please see the calendar page for more info.

  • Please place your bin out the night before your scheduled pickup! We will do our best to retrieve a bin if it is not out, however placing your bin curbside the night before will ensure you are not missed!
